Being Watched, 2012
Straßburg wird seit 2006 von Video-Kameras überwacht. Von den Kameras ausgehend habe ich meine Route in der Innenstadt ausgesucht, die ich mit den Stalzen abgelaufen bin. Wenn man das Filmmaterial
von den Kameras bekommen würde, könnte man sehen, wie aus dem Blickfeld der einen heraus und in das nächste Bild wieder hinein laufe. Um diese Performance festzuhalten, wurde ein Text von meiner
Aktion geschrieben. Die Präsentation der Arbeit besteht aus drei Teilen: zu den Stalzen und dem Text gibt es den Siebdruck von einem Storch, den ich während meines Aufenthalts in Straßburg
fotografiert habe. Mit den Stelzen nehme ich die Anatomie des Tieres an und bin so während meiner Performance für die Passanten und Videoüberwachungskammeras auffällig.
Strasbourg has been monitored by video cameras since 2006. I chose
my route in the city centre from the cameras, which I walked on stilts. If you got the footage from the cameras, you could see me walking out of one person's field of vision and back into the
next. In order to record this performance, a text was written by my action. The presentation of the work consists of three parts: The stilts and the text are
accompanied by a silkscreen of a stork that I photographed during my stay in Strasbourg. With the stilts, I assume the anatomy of the animal and thus become conspicuous during my performance for
the passers-by and video surveillance chamberas.
