In the street I took a photo of this spectacle: A street performer used a huge hoop for his acrobatic tricks. The sensational element of this performance is increased and exaggerated by depicting the hoop as even more outstanding: It glares as a neon light. But, paradoxically, the object becomes useless in its heightened spectacularity. The movement of the spectacle is being calmed by the spectacular object. Now, the hoop itself attracts the attention by appearing as the static, reduced shape of a light installation. Additionally, I created five drawings, showing the man performing his acrobatic tricks with the hoop.
