Die Arbeit besteht aus 33 umfunktionierten Einkaufswagen, die im Rondell am Schlossberg in Meißen zu einer skulpturalen Formation im öffentlichen Raum zusammengefügt sind. Der Ort über der Altstadt eröffnet den Blick ins Elbtal und markiert zugleich eine Schwelle zwischen touristischer Aussicht und alltäglicher Bewegung.

In ihrer Verdichtung verlieren die Einkaufswagen ihre ursprüngliche Funktion und werden zu einer gemeinsamen räumlichen Figur. Sie bewegen sich zwischen Skulptur, Möbel und Restobjekt, zwischen Gebrauch und Bedeutungsverschiebung. Die Anordnung bildet eine fragile Struktur, die zugleich als Sitzmöglichkeit, Block und offene räumliche Setzung lesbar ist.

Die Arbeit thematisiert Zwischenräume des Alltags: Objekte, die ständig präsent und doch kaum wahrgenommen sind. Im Kontext des Rondells lösen sich die Einkaufswagen aus ihrem funktionalen Kreislauf und treten als kollektiver Körper im Raum hervor. Sie markieren ein Spannungsfeld zwischen Konsum, Bewegung und Stillstand sowie zwischen Nutzung und Betrachtung.

The work consists of 33 repurposed shopping carts assembled into a sculptural formation in the public space of the Rondell at Schlossberg in Meißen. Situated above the old town, the site opens a view over the Elbe valley while also marking a threshold between a touristic viewpoint and everyday urban movement.

In their condensation, the shopping carts lose their original function and become a shared spatial figure. They shift between sculpture, furniture, and residual object, between utility and a transformation of meaning. Their arrangement forms a fragile structure that can be read simultaneously as seating, a block, and an open spatial configuration.

The work engages with the in-between spaces of the everyday: objects that are constantly present yet scarcely noticed. Within the context of the Rondell, the shopping carts detach from their functional cycle and emerge as a collective body in space. They define a field of tension between consumption, movement, and stillness, as well as between use and contemplation.
